About me
BRISTOL-BASED CREATIVE
After graduating with a degree from UCA in Fine Art specialising in sculpture/installation, I moved to Bristol and developed a creative collaboration with my artistic muse and close chum, Lucy Duggan.
We were pretty prolific. Projects included collecting 1000 lists for the More To Life Than Lists’ exhibition and holding a ‘Lucy Party’ to which 600 Lucys of Bristol were invited for a mass picnic. The two of us have always had huge interest in wellbeing, community, and creative expression.
The Happiness Project was established in 2009, a three-year, Lottery-funded project that was a pioneering approach to improving public health. The project was huge success and I continue as the Creative Director of our community interest company Light Box.
In 2014, I co-founded Barfoot + Duggan Ltd, a homewares company. I designed ‘playful patterns that ping’ for our range of products and sold our surface designs for license.
In 2018, I became head of Creative at Automation Ninjas, where we help small businesses succeed with their marketing.
Creative output
Maintaining a productive creative output, separate from my community projects and employment, has always been a priority for me.
I have always made a variety of work which involves a love of process and always seems to feature satisfying, repetitive actions.
Playfulness and experimentation are my creative priorities, and ‘happy accidents’ are always welcome.
I proudly launched my terrazzo shop back in 2019.
