About me

A Bristol based creative, Lucy Barfoot’s has always been interested in playfulness. She makes a variety of work which involves a love of process and feature satisfying, repetitive actions.

Her work is varied, after gaining her degree in Fine Art with a specialism in Sculpture/Installation, she went on to develop a creative partnership with Lucy Duggan. Their previous projects include collecting 1000 lists the ‘More To Life Than Lists’ exhibition and ‘The Lucy Party’ to which 600 Lucys of Bristol were invited for a mass picnic. The two have a huge interest in wellbeing, community, creativity and design.

After establishing ‘The Happiness Project’ in 2009, a pioneering approach to public health, she continues as the Creative Director of the Community Interest Company ‘Light Box’, who managed and ran the three year, Bristol-based Big Lottery funded project.

In 2014, she co-founded Barfoot + Duggan Ltd, a home-wares company with her chum Lucy Duggan. Her role is design-focussed and she is maintaining a productive creative output separate to these two companies. Most recently she is found in the pottery studio developing skills and experimenting with ceramics.
